Resumo: The dizzying growth of autistic people poses challenges for society as a whole and the school library could not be exempt from such responsibilities. In Brazil, data related to autism will be revealed for the first time in the 2020 Census, as the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics is conducting a survey of the census aimed at this audience. The article presents a systematic analysis carried out in the scientific production of the area of Library and Information Science on the subject - the autistic spectrum disorder and the performance of the school library. In order to identify the inclusive actions that could be proposed by the library for the inclusion of these students. The methodological approach used was to systematically review the literature of 17 articles retrieved from the Information Science Database, for the analysis of the data, the thematic analysis method was used. The results pointed to a lack of publications on autism spectrum disorder in the area of Library Science and Information Science. We found that the inclusion of these students is a very rich and challenging field for future investigations. The assistive technologies, ludic resources and the continuing education of the librarian are great allies for an inclusive school library.

Faculdade de Filosofia e Ciências2020-09-04info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/1030210.36311/1940-1640.2020.v14n3.10302Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 14 No. 3 - jul-set (2020); e020007Brazilian Journal of Information Science: Research Trends; Vol. 14 Núm. 3 - jul-set (2020); e020007Brazilian Journal of Information Science: research trends; v. 14 n. 3 - jul-set (2020); e0200071981-1640reponame:Brazilian Journal of Information Scienceinstname:Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)instacron:UNESPporhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/article/view/10302/6734Copyright (c) 2020 Renata Kelly Oliveira Sampaio, Gabriela Belmont de Fariasinfo:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessSampaio, Renata Kelly OliveiraFarias, Gabriela Belmont de2022-01-04T19:40:50Zoai:ojs.www2.marilia.unesp.br:article/10302Revistahttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/indexPUBhttps://revistas.marilia.unesp.br/index.php/bjis/oaibrajis.marilia@unesp.br||1981-16401981-1640opendoar:2022-01-04T19:40:50Brazilian Journal of Information Science - Universidade Estadual Paulista Júlio de Mesquita Filho (UNESP)false
