Resumo: This paper aims to briefly show how the model of international exchange rate regime was defined shortly after World War II, as well as to analyze the main exchange rate regimes and their general methods of operation throughout the 20th century, in addition to showing part of the contribution of the thinking that was in evidence at Bretton Woods. In addition, this research aims to partially analyze the results of exchange rate variations essentially between 2009-2019, during the Dilma-Temer Governments. Furthermore, it seeks to bring part of the discussion that the exchange rate variation over the period had on the Brazilian economy.
