Culture and Society: Education, Ethics, Gender and Health

In accordance with the internal criteria for thematic choice, adopted by Revista Aurora, the Dossier Section of this issue presents a special theme, called Culture & Society: Education, Ethics, Gender and Health. In this way, the Dossier Section is structured based on the following works: a) Valuing the Cultural Aspects of the Population as a Strategy to Improve Community Adherence to Health Promotion and Disease Prevention Actions, authored by Claudia Helena Mantelle Silva Mello, researcher at Universidade Estadual Paulista - “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” - Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences/ Marília Campus; b) Transformations in the world of work and the subjective experience of workers, authored by Vanessa Alexandre de Souza, researcher at the Federal University of Goiás; c) Bioethics & Education: when the foundations of civilization lie in encouraging addiction, authored by Marcelo Lira Silva, professor and researcher at the Universidade Estadual Paulista - “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” - Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences/Campus de Marília ; d) the fourth and final Article, jointly authored by Adelaide Ferreira Coutinho, Raquel Susana Lobato Muniz and Rita de Cássia Gomes Nascimento, researchers at the Federal University of Maranhão, entitled Fight for land, criminalization of Social Movements (in the countryside) and Education , closes this Section. In the Miscellaneous Section, the published articles cover various themes and reflections on different social phenomena in the Human Sciences. In this way, this Section is structured around the following works: a) Convento da Penha: a place of memory and cultural history, authored by Alberto Carlos de Souza, researcher at the Federal University of Espírito Santo; b) The women's movement in community work workshops in the Nova Marília neighborhood - SP: engendering a new feminism?, authored by Vanessa de Faria Berto, researcher at the Universidade Estadual Paulista - “Júlio Mesquita Filho” - Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences/ Marília Campus; c) Protestant reform and Jacobinism in the Quaderni del carcere: examples of the “national-popular”, authored by Cláudio Reis, researcher at the University of Campinas and professor at the Federal University of Grande Dourados; d) the fourth and final Article, About ethnographic writing, authored by Angela Taddei, researcher at the State University of Rio de Janeiro, closes the Section. In the Special Section we present the stimulating and enlightening work: An analysis of current drug consumption, by Professor Dr. Lúcia Arrais Morales from Universidade Estadual Paulista - “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” - Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences/Campus de Marília. Professor Dr. Lúcia Arrais Morales has: Degree in Psychology, from the Federal University of Ceará; Master's degree in Social Anthropology from the National Museum of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro; and, PhD in Social Anthropology from the same National Museum of the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro. She is currently a researcher and professor at the Universidade Estadual Paulista - “Júlio de Mesquita Filho” - Faculty of Philosophy and Sciences / Marília Campus, where she develops research in the area of Health Anthropology.
