Resumo: The article analyzes the drug use on the basis of observations and interviews at a rehab center in the paulista west. It works on the hypothesis that the drug use cannot be viewed entirely as coletive aswers to deprivation, but it express a wider-ranging contemporary command that acts within a niilist functionality in which the drug is one of ist manifestation. This perspective is demonstrated through routine activities that aims at individual work training.

O artigo analisa o consumo de drogas a partir de observações e entrevistas em um centro de reabilitação no oeste paulista. Trabalha com a hipótese de que o uso de drogas não pode ser concebido apenas como respostas coletivas a carências, mas ele expressa um ordenamento contemporâneo mais abrangente que atua dentro de uma funcionalidade niilista no qual a droga é uma de suas manifestações.
