Financialization of education : statement of the problem

Resumo: In this paper, the author proposes and argued the concept of financialization of education, characteristic of the current phase of late capitalism, and shows its essence, which is, the subordination of education to financial capital and its actors. The work also demonstrates the influence of the financialization of education on society and on individuals. And concluded that financial capital subordinates the content, goals, and values of education and creates a social atmosphere in which education becomes a driver of society's finances. Therefore, financial capital forms stereotypes for the social behavior of the main groups and leads to the formation of a new type of person, the homo finansus. This process strengthens and accelerates the financing of the economy and society as a whole. This work also presents specific characteristics that distinguish the financialization of education in comparison with other social sectors and the characteristics that are associated.

El artículo también demuestra la influencia de la financiarización de la educación en la sociedad y los individuos. Concluye que el capital financiero subordina los contenidos, fines y valores de la sociedad y crea un ambiente social en el que la educación se convierte en motor de la financiarización de la sociedad. Por lo tanto, el capital financiero forma estereotipos para el comportamiento social de los principales grupos y conduce a la formación de un nuevo tipo de persona, el homo finansus. Este proceso fortalece y acelera la financiarización de la economía y la sociedad en su conjunto. Este trabajo también presenta las características específicas que distinguen a la financiarización de la educación en comparación con otros sectores sociales y las características que los hacen similares.Neste artigo a autora propõe e discute o conceito de financeirização da educação, conceptualizando-o a partir da atual fase do capitalismo tardio e mostrando a sua essência, qual seja, a subordinação da educação ao capital financeiro e aos seus atores. O artigo também demonstra a influência da financeirização da educação na sociedade e nos indivíduos. O trabalho conclui que o capital financeiro subordina o conteúdo, os objetivos e os valores da sociedade e cria uma atmosfera social em que a educação se torna um condutor da financeirização da sociedade. Portanto, o capital financeiro forma estereótipos para o comportamento social dos principais grupos e leva à formação de um novo tipo de pessoa, o homo fincansus.Este processo fortalece e acelera a financeirização da economia e da sociedade como um todo.
