Resumo: In view of the challenge of breaking hierarchies of knowledge in the insertion of medicinal plants and herbal medicines in the Unified Health System (SUS), this essay reflects on the question “How Environmental Education can contribute to the emergence of silenced knowledge in the implementation of live pharmacies? ”, Using as a reference the concepts of knowledge ecology and interpretive communities, coined by Boaventura de Souza Santos and the National Environmental Educator Training Program (ProFEA). The work indicates the potential of EA to promote a collective construction of knowledge about medicinal plants and phytotherapy, contributing to the implementation of live pharmacies that express regional diversities.

Tomando como referencia los conceptos de ecología del conocimiento y comunidades interpretativas, acuñados por Boaventura de Souza Santos y el Programa Nacional de Formación de Educadores Ambientales (ProFEA). El trabajo indica el potencial de EA para promover una construcción colectiva de conocimiento sobre plantas medicinales y fitoterapia, contribuyendo a la implementación de farmacias vivas que expresen diversidades regionales.Diante do desafio de romper hierarquias entre conhecimentos na inserção das plantas medicinais e fitoterápicos no Sistema Único de Saúde (SUS), o presente artigo tece reflexões a partir da pergunta “Como a Educação Ambiental pode contribuir para a emergência de saberes silenciados na implementação de farmácias vivas”? Utilizamos como referencial os conceitos de ecologia de saberes e de comunidades interpretativas, ambos cunhados por Boaventura de Souza Santos e sugeridos no Programa Nacional de Formação de Educadores Ambientais (ProFEA).
