Identification, validation and proposition of indicators for analysis of actions and projects of environmental education

Resumo: Despite the advances produced during the last decade in the elaboration of indices and indicators related to sustainability, few initiatives have been committed to the study and availability of a set of specific indicators for the analysis of projects and actions of environmental education. The objective of the present study was to identify, validate and propose a set of indicators able to evaluate actions and projects of environmental education. For this, a systematic literature review (RBS) was carried out on the evaluation of projects and indicators of environmental education usually adopted, identifying 60 scientific articles aligned with the research theme for analysis and selection of indicators. After reading and considering the selected articles (including other complementary references), a set of indicators was organized and elaborated to allow evaluating the actions and process of environmental education. The selected indicators were organized according to their application dimensions: participation/involvement/mobilization; communication; institutional/articulation; EE approaches/strategies/actions; methods/techniques/procedures; concomitant actions; action results. Finally, the list of indicators that were validated by the 3S validation methodology (self validation; scientific validation; social validation) was organized, involving specialists and actors participating in the research. The validated indicators are organized into their respective dimensions of analysis, indicating the possible moments of their application (before, during and/or after carrying out the actions of the environmental education project), in order to allow analyzing and verifying essential aspects and characteristics of the different stages of the execution of the actions, aiming at the continuous improvements and refinements of the environmental education process.

El objetivo del presente estudio fue identificar, validar y proponer un conjunto de indicadores capaces de evaluar acciones y proyectos de educación ambiental. Para ello, realizamos una revisión sistemática de la literatura (RBS) sobre la evaluación de proyectos e indicadores de educación ambiental habitualmente adoptados, e identificamos sesenta artículos científicos alineados con el tema de investigación para análisis y selección de indicadores. Luego de la lectura y consideración de los artículos seleccionados (incluyendo otras referencias complementarias), organizamos y elaboramos ​​un conjunto de indicadores que permitan evaluar las acciones y procesos de educación ambiental. Los indicadores seleccionados se organizaron según sus dimensiones de aplicación: participación/implicación/movilización; comunicación; institucional/articulación; Enfoques/estrategias/acciones de EE; métodos/técnicas/procedimientos; acciones concomitantes; resultados de la acción. Finalmente, organizamos la lista de indicadores que fueron validados por la metodología de validación 3S (autovalidación; validación científica; validación social), involucrando a especialistas y actores participantes de la investigación. Los indicadores validados se organizan en sus respectivas dimensiones de análisis, indicando los posibles momentos de su aplicación (antes, durante y/o después de la realización de las acciones del proyecto de educación ambiental), a fin de permitir analizar y verificar aspectos y características esenciales de las diferentes etapas de ejecución de las acciones, visando la mejora y perfeccionamiento continuo del proceso de educación ambiental.Apesar dos avanços produzidos durante a última década na elaboração de índices e indicadores relacionados à sustentabilidade, poucas iniciativas têm sido empenhadas para o estudo e a disponibilização de um conjunto de indicadores específicos para a análise de projetos e ações de educação ambiental. O objetivo do presente estudo foi identificar, validar e propor um conjunto de indicadores aptos para avaliar ações e projetos de educação ambiental. Para isso, realizamos uma revisão bibliográfica sistemática (RBS) sobre a avaliação de projetos e indicadores de educação ambiental usualmente adotados; identificamos sessenta artigos científicos alinhados com a temática da pesquisa para análise e seleção de indicadores. Após a leitura e consideração dos artigos selecionados (incluindo outras referências complementares), procedemos à organização e elaboração de um conjunto de indicadores que permite avaliar as ações e o processo de educação ambiental. Os indicadores selecionados foram organizados em suas dimensões de aplicação: participação/envolvimento/mobilização; comunicação; institucionais/articulação; abordagens/estratégias/ações de EA; métodos/técnicas/procedimentos; ações concomitantes; resultados das ações. Por fim, organizamos a lista de indicadores que foram validados pela metodologia 3S de validação (self validation; scientific validation; social validation) envolvendo especialistas e atores participantes da pesquisa.
