Resumo: It’s our intent to considerate and to analyze the amazonic artistic-musical environment, specifically in Belém, in the context of western lyrical music (1890-1910) from an analysis of the Italian lyrical companies which presented in Teatro da Paz moving the city’s international musical market and also through the trajectory of the Italian maestro settled in Belém, Ettore Bosio, whom was among other things, the director of the Carlos Gomes’ Institute at the time of its reopening in 1929. Arriving in the city as a member of an Italian lyrical company, maestro Bosio was only one of the many Italian musicians who lived in Belém at that moment. In the reception of his lyric compositions by the press’ critics it was reviewed, inevitably, the modernity theme in music. Thus, it was revealed along his life in Belém his folklorist view on the musical arts inside the suggested context.

De que forma este mundo e aqueles que faziam parte dele estavam inseridos numa escala artístico-musical global, partindo de uma perspectiva amazônica. Neste sentido, faz-se uma análise da trajetória do maestro italiano radicado em Belém, Ettore Bosio, que entre outras coisas, foi também diretor do Instituto Carlos Gomes à época de sua reinauguração em 1929. O maestro Bosio foi apenas um dos muitos músicos italianos que passaram por Belém àquele período, chegando à cidade por meio de uma companhia lírica italiana, estas responsáveis pelos espetáculos operísticos que lotavam o Teatro da Paz. Na recepção de suas composições líricas pela crítica da imprensa, era abordado, inevitavelmente, o tema da modernidade na música. Evidenciamos, assim, o lugar de Belém dentro de um contexto global das artes musicais.
