From the shown reference to the constituted reference: the child’s entry in language and culture

Resumo: This study proposes to answer the following question: how the I-You relation (intersubjectivity) / He (reference) contributes to the child’s constitution as a speaker of his mother tongue and as a participant in the society of that language? To do so, it analyzes speech data from a child in the process of language acquisition based on Émile Benveniste’s enunciative theorization of reference and on the transposition of this theorization to the field of Language Acquisition as proposed by Silva (2009). The results of the analysis indicate changes in the child-language relation regarding the language, the speech and the child himself as a speaker and listener of his mother tongue and as a participant of the society of that language, insofar as it is in the relations with the other and with culture through enunciation that the child apprehends, with the signs of language, the objects and situations of the world they represent.
