Resumo: This article presents the course of the research group The discourse at the frontiers of the social: different signifying materialities and language technologies. In about 20 years, the group has discussed 'the social' in its constitutive differences as a common thread, working on the theme of the resistance of subjects from various symbolic objects. From the perspective of Materialist Discourse Analysis, here we emphasize analyses that spotlight confronting meanings in our society, in coercive practices often normalized as necessary, marked by force relations that do not always show their symbolic violence.

En un recorrido de casi 20 años, el grupo tiene como hilo conductor la discusión de lo social en sus diferencias constitutivas, trabajando la resistencia del sujeto en diversos objetos simbólicos. Desde la perspectiva del Análisis del Discurso Materialista, damos especial énfasis aquí a los análisis que dan visibilidad a significados en la confrontación en nuestra sociedad, en prácticas coercitivas a menudo normalizadas según sea necesario, marcadas por relaciones de fuerza que no siempre se muestran en su violencia simbólica.Este artigo apresenta o percurso do grupo de pesquisa O discurso nas fronteiras do social: diferentes materialidades significantes e tecnologias de linguagem. Num trajeto de quase 20 anos, o grupo tem como fio condutor a discussão do social em suas diferenças constitutivas, trabalhando a resistência do sujeito em objetos simbólicos diversos.
