About Criticism of Straight Thinking and Deconstruction of Gender Categories: Butler as a Reader of Monique Wittig

Resumo: From Butler’s critique of Wittig, we question paths for deconstructing gender norms associated to hetero thinking. To make viable the understanding that sex and gender are not fixed categories, we note how current Wittig’s studies are to contemporary feminist and gender theories, especially with regard to her criticism of psychoanalysis, sexual binaryisms and the heterocentric regime of patriarchy. By criticizing her through Butler, we will argue that it is possible to have laws turn against themselves, to overload power systems.
