The education of the tourismologist at Farroupilha Federal Institute according to the perspective of the integrated curriculum and the verticalization of teaching

Resumo: | The growth of tourist activities in several places around the world motivates the search for training and education in tourism with a focus on the performance in the various sectors offered in the labor market. In this sense, in the field of formal studies, Brazil currently has a large offer of higher education courses that contribute to the training and education of professionals in tourism, including the ones offered at the Federal Institutes of Education. It is understood that the education in these institutions, based on the principles of Professional and Technological Education (EPT), allows the academic education of a graduate in whose professional profile is also present the elements of EPT. This paper presents a part of a research that aimed to identify the concepts of Integrated Curriculum present in the Pedagogical Project (PPC) of the Tourism Management Course offered by Farroupilha Federal Institute, a document that guides the pedagogical structure and practices developed in the course. It is a qualitative exploratory research. The results of the analysis indicate that the discourse presented in the structure of the PPC is in accord with the principles of EPT. However, when looking for the course objectives and the professional profile of the graduates in the same document, the elements found are insignificant considering what it proposes. It is also evident that there is a greater concern with questions related to the proposition of methodologies with a view to the development of curricular integration than with the reflection on what curriculum integration. |

En ese sentido, en el campo de los estudios formales, el Brasil cuenta actualmente con una amplia oferta de carreras universitarias de formación de profesionales del turismo, incluso los que se ofrecen en los Institutos Federales de Educación. Se entiende que la formación en el espacio de los Institutos Federales de Educación, basada en los principios de la Educación Profesional y Tecnológica (EPT), permite la formación de un egresado en cuyo perfil profesional también están presentes elementos de la EPT. Este artículo presenta parte de una investigación que tuvo como objetivo identificar los conceptos de currículo integrado presentes en el Proyecto Pedagógico de la Carrera (PPC) Tecnología Superior en Gestión Turística del Instituto Federal Farroupilha, documento que orienta la estructura y las prácticas pedagógicas desarrolladas en ella. Es una investigación exploratoria cualitativa. Los resultados del análisis indican que en la estructura del PPC el discurso presentado muestra consonancia y aproximación con los principios de la EFA. Sin embargo, al buscar los objetivos de la carrera y el perfil profesional de los egresados en un mismo documento, los elementos encontrados son insignificantes considerando lo propuesto. También es evidente que existe una mayor preocupación por las cuestiones relacionadas con la proposición de metodologías que favorezcan el desarrollo de la integración curricular y la reflexión sobre qué es la integración curricular. O crescimento da atividade turística em diversas localidades impulsiona a busca pela formação com foco na atuação nos diversos setores oferecidos no mercado de trabalho. Nesse sentido, no campo dos estudos formais, o Brasil, atualmente, possui uma grande oferta de cursos de nível superior que contribuem para a formação de turismólogos, incluindo aqueles ofertados nos Institutos Federais de Educação. Entende-se que o ensino no espaço dos Institutos Federais de Educação, pautada nos princípios da Educação Profissional e Tecnológica (EPT), possibilita a formação de um egresso cujo perfil profissional tenha presente também elementos da EPT. Assim, este artigo tem por objetivo identificar as concepções de currículo integrado presentes no Projeto Pedagógico do Curso (PPC) Superior de Tecnologia em Gestão de Turismo do Instituto Federal Farroupilha, documento este que norteia a estrutura e as práticas pedagógicas desenvolvidas. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória de cunho qualitativo. Os resultados da análise sinalizam que na estrutura do PPC o discurso apresentado mostra consonância e aproximação com os princípios da EPT. Entretanto, ao buscarmos os objetivos do curso e o perfil profissional do egresso dispostos no mesmo documento, os elementos encontrados foram considerados insignificantes mediante ao proposto. Também fica evidente a maior preocupação com as questões relacionadas com a proposição de metodologias com vistas ao desenvolvimento da integração curricular do que propriamente a reflexão sobre o que é a integração curricular. Ou seja, a dualidade entre a educação para o fazer e a educação para o pensar.
