Resumo: The following paper is the approach to a problem shared problem by Brazilian and Argentinian intellectuals since the latest XIX century to middle XX century. We analyze the intellectual construction of the “folk medicine” through folkloric production as a field of study by researchers from both countries. Though we present both cases paying special attention to how they explain the “popular issue” during the nationalism development and the disciplinary strengthening of the Folklore. It is important to draw attention to a wide historical documentation that requires critical analysis in order to present the different conceptions of healing and curators of Brazil and Argentina.

A través de textos folclóricos analizamos la construcción intelectual de la llamada “medicina popular” como un campo de estudio por parte de investigadores de ambos países. Presentamos así el desarrollo de ambos casos prestando atención a cómo lo “popular” fue analizado en un contexto de expansión de los nacionalismos como así también de fortalecimiento de la disciplina folclórica. Se trata de llamar la atención sobre una amplia documentación histórica que requiere un análisis crítico para presentar las diferentes concepciones de curación y de curadores brasileros y argentinos.O trabalho a seguir é a abordagem de uma problemática compartilhada pelos intelectuais brasileiros e argentinos entre o final do século XIX e meados do século XX. Através de textos folclóricos, analisamos a construção intelectual da chamada "medicina popular" como um campo de estudo de pesquisadores de ambos os países. Apresentamos, portanto, o desenvolvimento de ambos os casos, prestando atenção à forma como o "popular" foi analisado em um contexto de expansão de nacionalismos e de fortalecimento da disciplina folclórica.
