"Beauty and the beast": Women and politics in media discourse

In this work we will analyze two reports made in 2016, about Dilma Rousseff and Marcela Temer, to observe which female performances appear in the media in a context (which we interpret as) of a politic-media coup and what are the productions of meaning that emerge of these texts in relation to the women mentioned in them. We emphasize that this article was produced in the context of a strike by students, staff and teachers at the State University of Campinas (Unicamp), which lasted from May to July 2016, as a result of discussions in the WG: Gender and Sexuality, formed at the Instituto de Philosophy and Human Sciences (IFCH) in the first semester of the same year, coordinated by Profa. Dr. Isadora Lins França and Dr. Carolina Branco Castro Ferreira.
