Resumo: | The objective of this article is to present the construction of the person in Caieira da Barra do Sul, a location in the south of Brazil, in a context in transformation from rural to urban. The construction of the person negotiates with attributes and belongings triggered since time immemorial, formulated from the belonging to a Casa da Caieira. The House is the material counterpart of the family and the locus for the realization of the domestic group, extending beyond these aspects. The House owns a domain composed of material goods - the land and, the residences -, and immaterial elements - the care for the elderly and children, the anchoring of belonging to the neighborhood. Belonging to a House builds the person as being “from here”, elaborating a sharing of values and a particular ethos. |

La construcción de la persona negocia con atributos y pertenencias desencadenados desde tiempos inmemoriales, formulados a partir de la pertenencia a una Casa da Caieira. La casa es la contraparte material de la familia y el lugar de realización del grupo doméstico, más allá de estos aspectos. La Casa posee un dominio compuesto por bienes materiales - la tierra y, las residencias -, y elementos inmateriales - el cuidado de ancianos y niños, el anclaje de pertenencia al barrio. Pertenecer a una casa construye a la persona como “de aquí”, elaborando un compartir valores y un ethos particular.O objetivo deste artigo é apresentar a construção da pessoa na Caieira da Barra do Sul, uma localidade ao sul do Brasil, em um contexto em transformação do rural para o urbano. A construção da pessoa negocia com atributos e pertencimentos acionados desde tempos imemoriais, formulados a partir do pertencimento a uma Casa da Caieira. A Casa é a contrapartida material da família e o locus da realização do grupo doméstico, estendendo-se além destes aspectos. A Casa é detentora de um domínio composto por bens materiais – o terreno e, as residências –, e elementos imateriais – o cuidado com os velhos e crianças, a ancoragem do pertencimento ao bairro.
