Resumo: The article addresses the problem of sociodiversity in the Uraricoera river motivated by a memory concerning the ethnonym Sapará. Present in the historical records during the XVIII century this ethnonym, as many other, began to disappear from the historical records during the XIX century and reached de XX century referred only to some individuals, living among the Makuxi and Taurepang in the meddle portion of Uraricoera river. The memory on sociodiversity emphasizes the myth of creation and the arrival of white man. The article also suggests that the memory is a response for the permanent land conflicts in Roraima.

Presente en la documentación histórica durante el siglo XVIII, este etnónimo, como tantos otros, comenzó a desaparecer de la documentación durante el siglo XIX y llegó al siglo XX refiriéndose a algunos individuos que vivían entre los Makuxi y Taurepang, en el Uraricoera medio. La memoria también enfatiza el mito de la creación y la llegada de los blancos. El texto también sugiere que la memoria de Sapará es una respuesta a los constantes conflictos por la tierra en Roraima.O artigo aborda o problema da sociodiversidade no rio Uraricoera tendo como ponto de partida um caso de memória envolvendo o etnônimo Sapará. Presente na documentação histórica durante o século XVIII, este etnônimo, como tantos outros, começou a desaparecer da documentação durante o século XIX e chegou ao século XX referenciado a alguns indivíduos vivendo entre os Makuxi e Taurepang, no médio Uraricoera. A memória enfatiza ainda o mito de criação e a chegada do branco.
