Resumo: | In this study, we aimed to understand the discursive functioning of the Congo Dance songs in Vila Bela - MT, in the way the verses articulate unfamiliar terms, foreign to the Portuguese - Brazilian system. These songs govern a festive scene of the city, mobilizing by the discursive memory, the senses that define it as a city of black tradition. By discourse Analysis (PÊCHEUX, 1990; ORLANDI, 2011; 2015), we ask about the way in which these formulations mean, in a relation with the Modern State, the discursive knowledge about the local culture in the processes of identification of the subject-party. |

Esses cantos regem uma cena festiva da cidade, mobilizando pela memória discursiva, os sentidos que a definem como uma cidade de tradição negra.
