Resumo: In this work, considering Discourse Analysis as anchored in historical materialism, we intend to unveil the contradictions from religious discourse, especially neopentecostal one, considering it as a one of the expressions of capitalist discourse in Brazilian society. The discussion regards both the productive (or paraphrastic) and/or the creative (or polysemic) possibilities of meaning effects engendered by fascist discourse in Brazil. Such a discourse is built upon elements of religiosity that are widespread since the foundation of the Brazilian Integralist Action in the 1930s. It is argued that there are interdiscoursive elements of this fascist movement being currently rescued, demonstrating the tension between past and present, reformulation and re-signification of what was said before.

Universidade Estadual de Campinas2022-09-29info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionTextoinfo:eu-repo/semantics/otherapplication/pdfhttps://periodicos.sbu.unicamp.br/ojs/index.php/rua/article/view/867112210.20396/rua.v28i2.8671122RUA; Vol. 28 No. 2 (2022): nov.; 353-376RUA; v. 28 n. 2 (2022): nov.; 353-3762179-99111413-2109reponame:Rua (Campinas.
