Resumo: In this paper, the discourse on urban rehabilitation in São Paulo downtown will be emphasized, with the objective of analyzing whether there is as advertisement unrelated to practical results or if it is an important instrument for approaching the population. Therefore, as a case study, the Luz area in São Paulo was delimited, a paradigmatic region when it is about an corrupted urban fabric with a strong discourse of requalification.
