History, silence and interdiscursive conditions of production of discourse

Resumo: In this article I present the importance and place of silence in the work of the historian with the archive and, for that, I outline an overview of the main issues and operations of this work and underline some problems and solutions concerning the notion of conditions of production of discourses (about which there is an expectation that it represents a certain anchoring of the discourses in history). We conclude that the mapping and description of the interlocutive scene of the harassments, disputes and displacements around the making of meaning, the mapping of the interdiscursive conditions of production of the discourse, gains stature and explanatory status with the support of the spatial, reparable, relational, contradictory, configurational and exploratory dimension of the historian's craft, a strong point of the work with silence in the historiographical practice.
