Resumo: This work is based on a re-reading of Orlandi's theorizing ([1992]1997) on silence and the word in dialogue with formulations about language by means of the Discourse Analysis bias. It is a reading gesture about the ways of saying the silence and its forms of being present as proposed by Orlandi ([1992]1997), by means of which it is sought to formulate questions about languages and, in particular, about educational practices in the field of languages and what can be said about them when thinking the silence. Se trata de un gesto de lectura acerca de los modos de decir el silencio y sus formas de presentarse tal como lo propone Orlandi ([1992]1997), gesto por el que se busca la construcción de interrogantes sobre las lenguas con énfasis para las prácticas educativas en el campo de las lenguas y lo que respecto a ellas se pueda decir a  partir de las formas de entenderse el silencio. Este trabalho se faz a partir de uma releitura das teorizações de Orlandi ([1992]1997) sobre o silêncio e a palavra em diálogo com as formulações sobre língua pelo viés da AD.
