Resumo: We propose here to consider the silence as a fully category of language, contrary to the preconceived idea that it is a negative reality (an absence of words). Unlike other approaches that do not reject the silence outside language (the classical moralism, rhetoric, pragmatic linguistics), we present a poetic approach to the problem, defining the silence as something we do not know how to listen in language, but that literature allows it to manifest.---Original in French

Mais à la différence d'autres approches qui ne rejettent pas le silence hors du langage (le moralisme classique, ia rhétorique, la linguistique pragmatique), on propose une approche poétique du problème, qui définit le silence comme ce qu'on ne sait pas entendre dans le langage, mais que la littérature permet de rendre manifeste.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------O silêncio da linguagemPropomo-nos, aqui, considerar o silêncio como uma categoria plena da linguagem, contrariamente à idéia preconcebida de que ele é uma realidade negativa (uma ausência de palavras).
