Resumo: This article analyzes the Personal Liberty Actions filed in the Campinas District Court along the second half of the 19th century, which argued that the local slave owners infracted the 1831 law against the traffic of enslaved africans to Brazil. Considering that said traffic occurred until the decade of 1850 despite the law, this article aims to portray the practices of the Campinas judicial district in face of the illegal enslaved workforce of the municipality.

Teniendo en cuenta que el tráfico estuvo en vigor hasta la década de 1850, contrario a la ley, tengo la intención de observar las prácticas de ese condado frente a la esclavitud ilegal de una gran parte de la mano de obra del municipio.O presente artigo analisa as Ações de Liberdade impetradas na Comarca de Campinas na segunda metade do século XIX, as quais tem por argumento a infração da lei de 1831 contra o tráfico de africanos escravizados para o Brasil.
