Resumo: | Sensitive to the aesthetic side of the world around him, Propertius, as well as other Roman poets who had preceded him, was influenced by plastic arts. In his elegies there are descriptions of architectonic monuments and references to sculptors, painters and famous pictures. The pictorial themes are often used and his descriptions of women evoke sometimes plastic images of ancient myths. |
