Patriarchalism imposes female submission to society, and the changes in the social system that have taken place in recent decades highlight the problems caused by this conservative system. In this scenario, the need to eradicate domestic violence against women is weighed by negative consequences it can cause in the emotional, psychological, social, and economic spheres. The objective of this research was to understand how domestic violence happens and which are its factors, in addition to collecting information for the implementation of the project proposal of the Police Station and Reception Center for Victims of Domestic Violence in the city of Curitiba/PR. With the establishment of a theoretical basis, architectural strategies related to neuroarchitecture and how space can influence behavior were discussed. The analysis of case studies offered design references, according to the research theme and influenced the choice of land and the elaboration of the needs program.
