Resumo: The search for improvements in soil-related aspects are among the most important for increasing productivity. Soil is an indispensable element for agricultural production. In this context, soil cover by living plant material is one of the many elements that help in the improvement of such aspects. reduction in soil surface temperature as soon as it recovers and in the future modifying the concentrations of water and organic matter available to the crop allowing for better development in addition to generating benefits to the physical attributes of the soil. The present work evaluated the influence of Brachiaria in an area cultivated with coffee. It was observed that the soil moisture content evaluated in the 0 to 0.05m depth range was lower in the area without brachiaria cultivation.

It was observed that the soil moisture content evaluated in the 0 to 0.05m depth range was lower in the area without brachiaria cultivation.A busca por melhorias dos aspectos ligados ao solo estão entre os mais importante para elevação da produtividade sendo o solo elemento indispensável para a produção agrícola nesse contesto a cobertura do solo por material vegetal vivo é um dos muitos elementos que auxilia na melhoria de tais aspectos promovendo redução da temperatura superficial do solo logo que recobra o mesmo e futuramente modificando as concentrações de água e matéria orgânica disponíveis a cultura permitindo um melhor desenvolvimento além de gerar benefícios aos atributos físicos do solo. O presente trabalho avaliou a influência de Brachiaria em uma área cultivada com café.
