Dissatisfaction with the smile occurs due to several aspects, among them, color changes, crowding, diastema, fractures, shape, size and position anomalies, dental agenesis and loss of permanent teeth, size discrepancies, ankylosis stand out. dental, physiological wear and after orthodontic finishing. Thus, the present study aims to illustrate, through a clinical case report, the closure of diastema and reanatomization with composite resin. Treatment was performed on a 33-year-old female patient without systemic changes, who had spaces between the upper central incisors that were not corrected with orthodontic treatment. The factors age, tooth shape and financial condition influenced the choice of treatment. In the case reported, the best option was the use of composite resins because of the reduction in treatment time, low cost and for providing improved esthetics. To obtain the dental polychromatism, the resin colors of choice were CT and A1B from Z350 XT ESPE (3M ESPE®, Sumaré, São Paulo, Brazil) and MW from Estelite Omega. The use of composite resin to close the diastema was successful, the patient's expectations were met. Therefore, it is concluded that the treatment of choice depends on the correct diagnosis and planning, and it is up to the professional to verify the best cost-benefit according to each case.
