Resumo: By simulating the sky at different times of the year and showing some of the mysteries of outer space, the planetarium has as its main objective, to promote Astronomy and educate the viewers who visit it. Being able to be used as a collaborating instrument in the educational environment, the planetarium is considered a space of non-formal education, being a place of learning different from a conventional classroom. The objective of this work is to analyze and understand the architectural theme called planetarium, by means of case studies, where initially the planetarium of the region were presented, in order to understand the dynamics of the existing structures near the city of implantation. Finally, a project analysis of three other related works was performed in order to contribute to the development of the preliminary study for the implantation of a planetarium in Maringá. In this study, it’s found that Maringá has the potential to house a planetarium for the city and region, due to its great demand by educational institutions and those interested in the universe of Astronomy.

Podendo ser utilizado como instrumento colaborador no meio educativo, o planetário é considerado um espaço de educação não formal, sendo um local de aprendizado diferente de uma sala de aula convencional. O objetivo deste trabalho é analisar e compreender o tema arquitetônico denominado planetário, por meio de estudos de casos, onde inicialmente foram apresentados os planetários da região, com o intuito de compreender a dinâmica das estruturas existentes próximas à cidade de implantação. Por fim, uma análise projetual de outras três obras correlatas foi realizada, a fim de contribuir no desenvolvimento do estudo preliminar para implantação de um planetário em Maringá.
