Resumo: This article aims to show the possibility of mediation process in cases of parental alienation, in order to emphasize the mental damage caused to children and the use of alternative solution methods. Through a bibliographical and documentary research, this work seeks to clarify the theme related to parental alienation, starting from its concept, historical evolution in Brazilian legislation, until the methods that are used today. Finally, we intended to address the benefits of the possibility of mediation as an extensive use for a SAP (Parental Alienation Syndrome) solution, thus avoiding the consequences of judgment for the disposing party, and especially the damage that would be caused to a child in the case of a dissolution of the family, which causes suffering for the alienated person due to the loss of a parent. Moreover, as a form of solution, the use of mediation will be sought to better benefit children and adolescents.

Por meio de uma pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, este trabalho busca esclarecer o tema relacionado à alienação parental, partindo desde o seu conceito, evolução histórica na Legislação Brasileira, até os métodos que são tratados hoje em dia. Por fim, pretende-se abordar os benefícios da possibilidade do uso da mediação como um uso extensivo para uma solução da SAP, fazendo assim com que sejam evitadas as consequências oriundas de uma sentença para a parte alienadora, e principalmente os danos que seriam causados à criança no caso de uma dissolução do poder familiar, fazendo assim com que o alienado sofresse pela perda de um genitor.
