O uso de cimentos biocerâmicos no tratamento endodôntico: Estudo de revisão

Resumo: The filling the retrocavity with filling material is one of the keys to the success of endodontic surgery. The aim of this study is to address the use of bioceramic cements in endodontic treatment, their biological and physical-chemical properties and their indications. This work constitutes a qualitative bibliographic search, of a descriptive nature with a search in the literature in 3 databases: Google Scholar, PubMed and SciELO, using the time frame from 2005 to 2020. 44 articles were selected. It was found that endodontic cements act as adjuvants in waterproofing the root canal system; and are used in close contact with biological tissues such as pulp, dentin, periodontal tissue and alveolar bone. These materials are biocompatible, have good dimensional stability and marginal sealing, insolubility against tissue fluids, have easy handling and insertion, good radiopacity and short setting time. In addition, they are antimicrobial and have the ability to stimulate repair in the region. Therefore, given the wide availability of endodontic bioceramic cements on the market, it is up to the dental surgeon to choose this based on knowledge of its biological and physical-chemical properties and according to the procedure to be performed.

O objetivo deste estudo é abordar o uso de cimentos biocerâmicos no tratamento endodôntico, as suas propriedades biológicas e físico-químicas e suas indicações. Este trabalho, constitui-se em uma pesquisa bibliográfica qualitativa, de caráter descritivo com uma busca na literatura em 3 bases de dados: Google Acadêmico, PubMed e SciELO, utilizando como recorte temporal 2005 a 2020. Foram selecionados 44 artigos. Verificou-se que os cimentos endodônticos atuam como coadjuvantes na impermeabilização do sistema de canais radiculares; e são utilizados em contato íntimo com tecidos biológicos como polpa, dentina, tecido periodontal e osso alveolar. Esses materiais são biocompatíveis, possuem boa estabilidade dimensional e selamento marginal, insolubilidade frente aos fluidos tissulares, têm fácil manipulação e inserção, boa radiopacidade e tempo de presa curto. Além disso, são antimicrobianos e possuem capacidade de estimular o reparo na região.
