Resumo: The current study focused on researching the public policies of encouragement for adoption as well as the children and adolescents’ rights and related principles. It was conducted analysis on the protection duty of the government, the society and the family with respect to the child and adolescent, as well as the concept of public policies and its forms. The study has covered the subjects of the institution of adoption and the current Brazilian scenario. Therefore, the purpose was to reflect upon the exposure of children and adolescents in public policies, in search of a foster family, especially, regarding the principle of the best interest of the child and the adolescent and the principle of human dignity. It was used the bibliographic research methodology in order to collect legal data related to the subjects discussed, based on opinion of jurists and the Brazilian law, including online.

Foi desenvolvida a análise do dever de proteção do Estado, da sociedade e da família em relação à criança e ao adolescente, bem como o conceito de políticas públicas e suas espécies. O instituto da adoção e o atual cenário brasileiro foi outro ponto abordado no trabalho. Assim, o objetivo foi refletir sobre a exposição de crianças e adolescentes em políticas públicas, em busca de uma família, sobretudo, considerando o princípio do melhor interesse da criança e do adolescente e o princípio da dignidade da pessoa humana.
