Resumo: The main objective of this study is to verify how the adequacy of the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) is succeeded by companies. Using the technique of bibliographic research, it is exposed to a brief contextualization of the LGPD, followed by concepts and principles about the subject, and other understanding of the legislation. Presenting the differentiation between personal data and sensitive personal data, it addresses the processing of personal data by the National Data Protection Authority (ANPD). The adequacy of activities in entrepreneurs, the LGPD, whether in large or small companies, is a practice that must be implemented with caution, to cushion the financial impact because of its consequences and advantages.

Utilizando-se a técnica de pesquisa bibliográfica, expõe-se uma breve contextualização da LGPD, seguida por conceitos e princípios acerca do tema, e demais entendimento da legislação. Apresentando a diferenciação entre dados pessoais e dados pessoais sensíveis, aborda-se o tratamento de dados pessoais pela Autoridade Nacional de Proteção de Dados (ANPD).
