Resumo: The objective of the present paper is to present the hypotheses of application of the IMPREVISION THEORY, as a possibility of revision of contracts in general, which have become unbalanced due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At first, a short analysis will be made of the general theory of contracts and the most important principles that must be followed during the contractual phases. In the sequence, the main consequences caused by the pandemic in contracts in general will be demonstrated. Finally, the theory of unpredictability prescribed in the Brazilian Civil Code will be discussed as an instrument of contractual revision, in the hypothesis that the contract has become excessively burdensome for one of the parties, due to the occurrence of an extraordinary and unpredictable event, as is the case of the pandemic, as will be demonstrated.

De início será feita uma breve análise da teoria geral dos contratos e dos princípios mais relevantes que devem ser observados durante as fases contratuais.
