Resumo: | This study is a literature review aiming to identify the main parafunctional habits involved in non-carious cervical lesions (NCNC). The prevalent factors of these injuries in the literature are abrasion, abfraction, attrition and erosion, they have a multifactorial etiology without bacterial involvement, affecting all age groups in both genders. This is due to the bad habits of each individual, whether in diet or inadequate hygiene, thus causing dentin hypersensitivity. Clinically, these lesions manifest mainly in anterior teeth, compromising their esthetics and functionality, but we show that premolars are the teeth most susceptible to the cause, due to their occlusal overload. The association of etiological factors is directly related to the form of development and progression of these lesions. Therefore, these lesions must be diagnosed at the beginning, so that they can stop their progression and to carry out an adequate treatment. |
