Disseminação de bactérias multirresistentes em jalecos no ambiente hospitalar: revisão bibliográfica

The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is a requirement of Brazilian labor legislation and should be used by all health professionals who provide direct assistance to the patient. Of the PPEs, the most used by health professionals is the white coat, which unfortunately ends up being a reservoir of microorganisms. The study proved to be important to evidence the fact that the coat is a means of transportation of many microorganisms in the hospital area, mainly of multi-resistant bacteria. The objective of this work was to analyze the contamination of white coats by health professionals and the occurrence of contamination by multi-resistant bacteria through a review of integrative literature. As inclusion criteria we had the selection of articles published in the last ten years until now available in online databases such as Google Scholar and similar. We found 280 articles pertinent to the subject using the key words described, however 270 were excluded because they do not fit the inclusion criteria, being included 10 articles in the results. Through the analysis of the selected studies, it can be concluded that there is a high incidence of contamination of the jackets of professionals who work in hospital environment. The genus of bacteria with greater predominance in the studies was the Staphylococcus. It was found that professionals do not follow the recommendations of Biosafety regarding the places and time of use of the white coat, in addition to washing and transport in order to reduce cross contamination.
