Mapping of mobilizations of Bibliometrics and Scientometrics in Science Education research: a look at national journals

Resumo: | Bibliometrics approaches have been evolving in the last decades and providing theoretical and methodological tools of extreme relevance to the most diverse areas of knowledge. However, the area of Science Education Research apparently has not been broadly mobilizing such perspectives in their productions. In order to contribute to the advance of our understanding of these mobilizations, we seek to build a look at what has been produced in national journals present in the Qualis strata A1, A2 and B1, in the Teaching area of CAPES, seeking to answer the following questions: How have bibliometric/scientometric analyzes been used in articles from national journals linked to PEC in Brazil? Which agents have contributed to these productions? Thus, from a qualitative and quantitative approach, we organized the analyzes in two methodological moments: (i) analysis of bibliographic data (most recurrent journals, temporal distribution, most recurrent authors, areas of initial formation, institutions of initial formation, linking professional, postgraduate and advisor); and (ii) analysis of bibliographic references (reference format, most present journals, temporal distribution, languages, most cited references and citation networks). It was possible to find only 7 articles in 5 journals, reinforcing the incipience of bibliometric approaches in the context of the PEC, despite an apparent increase in recent years. It is evident the presence of two central cores that have been concentrating the efforts in the consolidation of these forms of approaches and points to the several possibilities still open, that can be explored for better knowledge of the authors of the PEC about the own constitution of the area. |

Sin embargo, el área de Investigación en Educación en Ciencias (IEC) aparentemente no ha estado movilizando tales perspectivas en sus producciones. Para contribuir al avance de nuestra comprensión de estas movilizaciones, buscamos analizar lo que se ha producido en el ámbito de las revistas nacionales presentes en los estratos Qualis A1, A2 y B1 en el área de enseñanza CAPES, buscando responder las siguientes preguntas: cómo ¿Se han utilizado análisis bibliométricos/cientométricos en artículos de revistas nacionales vinculadas a IEC en Brasil? ¿Qué agentes han contribuido a estas producciones? Así, desde un enfoque cualitativo y cuantitativo, organizamos los análisis en dos momentos metodológicos: (i) análisis de los datos bibliográficos (revistas más recurrentes, distribución temporal, autores más recurrentes, áreas de capacitación inicial, instituciones de capacitación inicial, vinculación profesionales, graduados y supervisores); y (ii) análisis de referencias bibliográficas (formato de referencias, revistas más actuales, distribución del tiempo, idiomas, referencias más citadas y redes de citas). Fue posible encontrar solo 7 artículos en 5 revistas, lo que refuerza la incipiencia de los enfoques bibliométricos en el contexto de PEC, a pesar de un aparente aumento en los últimos años. Es evidente la presencia de dos núcleos centrales que han estado concentrando esfuerzos en la consolidación de estas formas de enfoques y apunta a las varias posibilidades aún abiertas, que pueden explorarse para un mejor conocimiento de los autores de IEC sobre la constitución del área.As abordagens bibliométricas vêm evoluindo nas últimas décadas e fornecendo ferramentais teórico-metodológicos de extrema pertinência para as mais diversas áreas do conhecimento. Entretanto, a área de Pesquisa em Educação em Ciências (PEC) aparentemente não vem mobilizando amplamente tais perspectivas em suas produções. No intuito de contribuir no avanço de nossas compreensões acerca dessas mobilizações, procuramos olhar para o que tem sido produzido no âmbito de periódicos nacionais presentes nos estratos Qualis A1, A2 e B1 na área de Ensino da CAPES, procurando responder aos seguintes questionamentos: como as análises bibliométricas/cienciométricas vêm sendo utilizadas em artigos de periódicos nacionais vinculados à PEC no Brasil? Quais agentes têm contribuído nessas produções? Assim, a partir de uma abordagem quali-quantitativa, organizamos as análises em dois momentos metodológicos: (i) análise dos dados bibliográficos (periódicos mais recorrentes, distribuição temporal, autores mais recorrentes, áreas de formação inicial, instituições de formação inicial, de vinculação profissional, de pós-graduação e orientadores); e (ii) análise das referências bibliográficas (formato das referências, periódicos mais presentes, distribuição temporal, idiomas, referências mais citadas e redes de citações). Foi possível encontrar apenas 7 artigos em 5 periódicos, reforçando a incipiência das abordagens bibliométricas no contexto da PEC, apesar de aparente aumento nos anos mais recentes.
