Resumo: | The issue involving solid waste management has been the subject of discussions, aggravated mainly by the crisis resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, stimulatingthecreationofmechanismsthatpromotesustainabledevelopment as a form of economic, social and environmental recovery. The objective of this research was to describe the current legislation and management plans as a way to reduce the impacts on the environment due to the increase in solid waste due to the pandemic. Records and analyzes were carried out through bibliographical research, enabling the correlation of related subjects, selection of articles, and formulation of hypothesis supported by the contextualization of the theme. It was defined which segments would be described about the COVID-19 pandemic, emphasizing the importance of developing strategies to help the country's recovery. It was observed that it is imperative to follow standards for the treatment of waste, with na emphasis on the pandemic occasion, since they can present contamination, requiring the implementation of standard precautions from the segregation stage to its final destination or disposal. Therefore, the information is relevant, guiding the population's understanding of the care necessary for handling waste and the reflective practice on living standards, mainly motivated by the changes that are expected to occur in the post-pandemic world. |

Therefore, the information is relevant, guiding the population's understanding of the care necessary for handling waste and the reflective practice on living standards, mainly motivated by the changes that are expected to occur in the post-pandemic world.
