For a new art of living: spaces and reabilitation practices for the visually impaired subjetcs

Resumo: The experience of visual impairment leads to new learning, among which the role of rehabilitation and its repercussions for the understanding of life dynamics stand out. This study aims at Analyzing the spaces and practices of rehabilitation experienced by subjects with visual impairment, immersed in their daily lives. The technique used was that of a focus group and the data obtained were submitted to thematic analysis. The study obtained ethical approval for its realization. As for the results, the themes that emerged from the speeches were: the first steps: the rehabilitational trajectory; relearn to do: the activities of daily life (avd); relearn to move: the steps to orientation and mobility; repressing to read and write: the meeting with braille; and a survey at the percurse: assistant technologies. The study concludes that despite the improvements achieved in the availability of services aimed at the enjoyment of the rights of citizenship and freedom by people with blindness and low vision, obstacles of a political, operational, access and use of technical and technological resources by such individuals still persist. Even so, rehabilitation has proved to be an important tool allied in the resumption of the art of living in the face of blindness.

Este estudio tiene como objetivo analizar los espacios y prácticas de rehabilitación que experimentan los sujetos con discapacidad visual, inmersos en su vida cotidiana. La técnica utilizada fue la de un grupo de discusión y los datos obtenidos se sometieron a un análisis temático. El estudio obtuvo la aprobación ética para su realización. En cuanto a los resultados, los temas que surgieron de los discursos fueron: los primeros pasos: la trayectoria de rehabilitación; volver a aprender a hacer: las actividades de la vida diaria (avd); volver a aprender a moverse: los pasos para la orientación y la movilidad; representación para leer y escribir: el encuentro con braille; y una encuesta en el percurso: tecnologías de ayuda. En el estudio se llega a la conclusión de que, a pesar de las mejoras logradas en la disponibilidad de servicios destinados al disfrute de los derechos de ciudadanía y libertad por parte de las personas con ceguera y baja visión, aún persisten los obstáculos de orden político, operativo, de acceso y de utilización de los recursos técnicos y tecnológicos por parte de esas personas. Aun así, la rehabilitación ha demostrado ser una importante herramienta aliada en la reanudación del arte de vivir frente a la ceguera.A experiência da deficiência visual suscita novos aprendizados, dentre os quais se destaca o papel da reabilitação e suas repercussões para a compreensão da dinâmica de vida. Este estudo objetiva analisar os espaços e as práticas de reabilitação vivenciadas por sujeitos com deficiência visual, imersos em seus cotidianos. A técnica empregada foi a de grupo focal e os dados obtidos foram submetidos à análise temática. O estudo obteve aprovação ética para sua realização. Quanto aos resultados, as temáticas que emergiram a partir dos discursos foram: os primeiros passos: a trajetória reabilitacional; reaprender a fazer: as atividades de vida diária (avd); reaprender a se mover: os passos para orientação e mobilidade;  reaprender a ler e escrever: o encontro com o braille; e um atalho no percurso: as tecnologias assistivas. O estudo conclui que apesar da constatação das melhorias alcançadas na disponibilização dos serviços voltados ao usufruto dos direitos de cidadania e de liberdade pelas pessoas com cegueira e baixa visão, ainda perduram obstáculos de ordem política, operacional, de acesso e utilização dos recursos técnicos e tecnológicos por tais sujeitos.
