The application of Crew Resource Management (CRM) of aviation in medicine for patient safety: A bibliographic review

Resumo: | Introduction: The Crew Resource Management (CRM), translated from the English language as team resource management, is a training that seeks to improve non-technical skills, such as leadership, communication, interpersonal relationships, situational awareness, decision making, fair culture and error management. Objective:This work aims to show how the CRM, being a pedagogical tool applied to aviation, not only can, but is increasing the level of security within hospitals, surgical centers and places where security of the patient must be high. It is hoped that this manuscript will be a source of knowledge on the subject of patient safety and inspiration for health professionals. Methodology:This is an integrative literature search, of a qualitative and exploratory nature, analyzing articles published in indexed journals that deal, in specific databases, with the topic of CRM, as a pedagogical tool applied to aviation in Medicine between the years of 1978 and 2018. This step was divided into six parts, namely identification of the theme, designation of inclusion and exclusion criteria, extraction of information, evaluation of studies, discussion of results and presentation of the review. Results: In the end, 15 articles were selected that talk about the application of CRM in Medicine, which served as the basis for the construction of this work.Conclusion: Patient safety can only grow and improve with the implementation of training in resource management. team for medical professionals, whether nurses, assistants, anesthesiologists, residents and/or experienced surgeons. |

Resultados: Al final se seleccionaron 15 artículos que hablan sobre la aplicación del CRM en Medicina, los cuales sirvieron de base para la construcción de este trabajo. Conclusión: La seguridad del paciente sólo puede crecer y mejorar con la implementación de capacitación en gestión de recursos del equipo para los profesionales médicos, ya sean enfermeras, asistentes, anestesiólogos, residentes y/o cirujanos experimentados.Introdução: O Crew Resource Management (CRM), traduzido da língua inglesa como gestão de recursos de equipe, é um treinamento onde busca-se o aprimoramento de habilidades não técnicas, como liderança, comunicação, relação interpessoal, consciência situacional, tomada de decisão, cultura justa e gerenciamento do erro. Objetivo: Este trabalho tem o intuito de mostrar como o CRM, sendo uma ferramenta pedagógica aplicada à aviação, não só pode, como está aumentando o nível de segurança dentro de hospitais, centros cirúrgicos e locais onde a segurança do paciente deva ser alta. Espera-se que este manuscrito seja fonte de conhecimento sobre o assunto de segurança ao paciente e inspiração para profissionais da área da saúde. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma pesquisa integrativa de literatura, de natureza qualitativa e exploratória, analisando artigos publicados em periódicos indexados que tratam, em bases de dados específicas, da temática do CRM, como ferramenta pedagógica aplicada à aviação na Medicina entre os anos de 1978 e 2018. Esta etapa foi dividida em seis partes, sendo elas identificação do tema, designação de critérios de inclusão e exclusão, extração de informações, avaliação dos estudos, discussão dos resultados e apresentação da revisão. Resultados: Foram selecionados no final 15 artigos que falam sobre a aplicação do CRM na Medicina que serviram de base para a construção deste trabalho.
