Assessment of the impacts on the quality of life of health professionals on the front line of the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Santarém-Pará

Resumo: The quality of life of health professionals was hypothetically reflected during the pandemic. Therefore, the objective of this study is to evaluate the impacts on the quality of life of health professionals who act/acted on the front line in the COVID-19 pandemic in the municipality of Santarém-Pará.The research is classified as quantitative, descriptive and cross-sectional, it was carried out with health professionals who act/acted on the front line in the COVID-19 pandemic, assessing the positivity of these professionals for COVID-19, whether they needed to be hospitalized and/or had post-COVID symptoms, using a specific form, and quality of life using the WHOQOL-bref questionnaire. 46 professionals participated in the survey, in which they answered questions about contamination, hospitalization and whether they had post-COVID symptoms, through which it was possible to verify that most professionals were contaminated, but did not need to be hospitalized. In the analysis of quality of life, it was identified that the environment domain of the WHOQOL-bref, a low score was obtained. Thus, even with a small sample, frontline professionals have a quality of life that is “neither good nor bad”, even in the face of a sudden change in the routine of the work environment, as well as even being infected, there were no complications that would make them feel sick. if hospitalization.

Por lo tanto, el objetivo de este estudio es evaluar los impactos en la calidad de vida de los profesionales de la salud que actúan/actuaron en la primera línea en la pandemia de COVID-19 en el municipio de Santarém-Pará. La investigación se clasifica en cuantitativa, descriptiva y transversal, se realizó con profesionales de la salud que actúan/actuaron en primera línea en la pandemia del COVID-19, valorando la positividad de estos profesionales para el COVID-19, si necesitaban estar hospitalizado y/o tener síntomas post-COVID, mediante un formulario específico, y calidad de vida mediante el cuestionario WHOQOL-bref. 46 profesionales participaron de la encuesta, en la que respondieron preguntas sobre contaminación, hospitalización y si tenían síntomas post-COVID, a través de lo cual se pudo verificar que la mayoría de los profesionales estaban contaminados, pero no necesitaron ser hospitalizados. En el análisis de la calidad de vida se identificó que el dominio medio ambiente del WHOQOL-bref obtuvo un puntaje bajo. Así, incluso con una pequeña muestra, los profesionales de primera línea tienen una calidad de vida que no es “ni buena ni mala”, incluso ante un cambio repentino en la rutina del ambiente de trabajo, así como incluso estando infectados, no hubo complicaciones que los harían sentir enfermos si la hospitalización.A qualidade de vida dos profissionais da saúde foi hipoteticamente refletida durante a pandemia. Assim sendo, o objetivo desse estudo é avaliar os impactos na qualidade de vida dos profissionais de saúde que atuam/atuaram na linha de frente na pandemia da COVID-19 no município de Santarém-Pará. A pesquisa é classificada como quantitativa, descritiva e transversal, foi realizada com profissionais da saúde que atuam/atuaram na linha de frente na pandemia da COVID-19, sendo avaliada a positividade desses profissionais para COVID-19, se necessitaram ficar internados e/ou tiveram sintomas pós-COVID, por meio de formulário próprio e a qualidade de vida através do questionário WHOQOL-bref. Participaram da pesquisa 46 profissionais, nos quais responderam perguntas sobre a contaminação, internação e se tiveram sintomas pós-COVID, através desses foi possível verificar, que a maioria dos profissionais foram contaminados, mas não necessitaram ser internados. Na análise acerca da qualidade de vida, identificou-se que no domínio meio ambiente do WHOQOL-bref, obteve-se baixo escore.
