Resumo: | Objective: To analyze the factors related to the high incidence of gestational and congenital syphilis in Brazil. Methodology: An integrative review of studies published between 2016 and 2021 was conducted through the LILACS, MEDLINE, PubMed and SciELO databases. Results: The main factors related to the high incidence of gestational and congenital syphilis, failure in diagnostic methods, underreporting, non-adherence to preventive and control methods, as well as the non- association of concomitant treatment of pregnant women and their partners were identified. In addition, there is a shortage of the raw material of benzathine penicillin, a first-line drug for treatment, and a deficiency in the qualification of health professionals who work in the face of treponemal infection in pregnant women and newborns. Conclusion: Treatment failure and increased incidence of gestational and congenital syphilis is directly related to the lack of training of health professionals, the non-treatment of the partner and the late start of prenatal care. |

Research, Society and Development2022-03-28info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2786210.33448/rsd-v11i5.27862Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 5; e2011527862Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 5; e2011527862Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 5; e20115278622525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/27862/24279Copyright (c) 2022 Ana Luiza Sardinha Gonçalves; Giovana da Silva Oliveira; Vitória Alves Melo ; Eduardo Henrique Oliveira Toledo; Deyze Alencar Soareshttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessGonçalves, Ana Luiza SardinhaOliveira, Giovana da Silva Melo , Vitória Alves Toledo, Eduardo Henrique OliveiraSoares, Deyze Alencar2022-04-17T18:18:56Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/27862Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:45:27.512087Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false |
