Feasibility of implementing water reuse system of air conditioners: case study in the main building of Christus Faculdade do Piauí

Resumo: | This article aims to analyze the feasibility of water reuse in the use of air conditioners used at Christus Faculdade do Piauí, CHRISFAPI, in Piripiri-PI, as a set of actual case studies, based on data collections made in the dripping of the drains of the apparatus of the aforementioned faculty. With reuse, impacts resulting from inappropriate disposal of water will be visibly commuted. The air conditioners have particularities according to the brand, among them: temperature, energy consumption and Btus (British Thermalunits Thermal Unit). 99 ceiling floor type air conditioners have been listed, with a capacity of 2200 Btus, of two distinct brands, Carrier e Spring, installed in 43 classrooms. For the collection of discarded water, two basins were used, one for each type in an interval of one hour. After collection, with the aid of a beaker, the exact volume of water wasted during the period mentioned above has been measured, and reproduced to the remaining machines, reaching a total of 718.36 liters of water per school day. The results obtained show a viable alternative for the storage and reuse of water that would be wasted. Therefore, this article brought to the institution not only information on the quantity of water that can be reused in the Faculty itself, but only the benefits to come for other purposes within the institution. |

Con la reutilización, los impactos resultantes de la eliminación inadecuada del agua se conmutarán visiblemente. Los aires acondicionados tienen particularidades según la marca, entre ellas: temperatura, consumo energético y Btus (Unidad Térmica Británica de Unidades Térmicas). Se han listado 99 aires acondicionados tipo techo y piso, con una capacidad de 2200 Btus, de dos marcas distintas, Carrier e Spring, instalados en 43 aulas. Para la recolección de agua descartada se utilizaron dos tinas, una para cada tipo en un intervalo de una hora. Tras la recogida, con la ayuda de un vaso de precipitados, se ha medido el volumen exacto de agua desperdiciada durante el período mencionado anteriormente y se ha reproducido al resto de máquinas, alcanzando un total de 718,36 litros de agua por jornada escolar. Los resultados obtenidos muestran una alternativa viable para el almacenamiento y reutilización del agua que se desperdiciaría. Por lo tanto, este artículo trajo a la institución no solo información sobre la cantidad de agua que se puede reutilizar en la propia Facultad, sino solo los beneficios por venir para otros fines dentro de la institución.O presente artigo tem por objetivo analisar a viabilidade do reaproveitamento de água no uso de aparelhos ares-condicionados usados na Christus Faculdade do Piauí, CHRISFAPI, em Piripiri-PI, em conjunto de estudo de caso real, baseado em coletas de dados feitos no gotejamento dos drenos dos aparelhos da mencionada faculdade. Com reaproveitamento, impactos decorrentes de descarte inapropriado da água serão visivelmente atenuados. Os aparelhos de ares-condicionados detêm de particularidades conforme a marca, dentre elas: temperatura, consumo de energia e BTUs (British ThermalUnits Unidade Térmica Britânica). Foram enumerados 99 aparelhos de ares-condicionados do tipo piso teto, com capacidade de 2200 BTUs, sendo esses de duas marcas distintas, Carrier e Spring, instalados em 43 salas de aula. Para a colheita de água descartada, foram utilizadas duas bacias, uma para cada tipo de aparelho, em um intervalo de uma hora. Após a coleta, com auxílio de uma proveta, foi mensurado exatamente o volume de água desperdiçado, durante o período já mencionado, e reproduzido às máquinas restantes, chegando a um total de 718,36 litros de água por dia letivo. Os resultados obtidos mostram uma alternativa viável para o armazenamento e reuso da água que seria desperdiçada.
