Representations of the school as a place: real and imaginary in the perception of students of a Technical High School

Resumo: The purpose of this article is to present a study of school representations through drawings. In this work, we analyze the representations of the school space that some students did, through drawings. These representations were produced by male and female adolescents, who are between 15 and 18 years old and are in the 4th module of the Management course in Technical High School, in an institution of the private education network, located in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo, Brazil. In the data collection process, students were asked to design the school as they saw it. Thus, the set of drawings provided us with rich material for analysis, which revealed that school is a significant place of relationships, source of experiences, learning and a space of contradictions.

En este trabajo, se analizan las representaciones del espacio escolar que algunos alumnos hicieron, por medio de dibujos. Estas representaciones fueron producidas por adolescentes de sexo femenino y masculino, que tienen entre 15 y 18 años y están en el 4º módulo del curso de Gestión, en la Enseñanza Media Técnico, en una institución de la red particular de enseñanza, ubicada en la Región Metropolitana de São Paulo . En el proceso de recolección de datos, se solicitó a los alumnos que diseñaran la escuela como ellos la veían. Así, el conjunto de los dibujos nos proveyó de rico material para análisis, lo que reveló ser la escuela un lugar significativo de relaciones, fuente de experiencias, de aprendizajes y un espacio de contradicciones.O objetivo do presente artigo é apresentar um estudo sobre representações da escola por meio de desenhos. Neste trabalho, analisam-se as representações do espaço escolar que alguns alunos fizeram, por meio de desenhos. Essas representações foram produzidas por adolescentes do sexo feminino e masculino, que têm entre 15 e 18 anos e estão no 4º módulo do curso de Gestão, no Ensino Médio Técnico, em uma instituição da rede particular de ensino, localizada na Região Metropolitana de São Paulo. No processo de coleta de dados, solicitou-se aos alunos que desenhassem a escola como eles a viam.
