Resumo: | Objective: To carry out an epidemiological investigation on dengue cases in Amazonas, from 2018 to 2022. Methodology: This is a retrospective, descriptive study with a quantitative approach on probable cases and the incidence rate of dengue in Amazonas, in the period from 2018 to 2022. Data collection was carried out from data provided through epidemiological bulletins from the Ministry of Health and Fundação de Vigilância em Saúde do Amazonas in the years 2018 to 2022, whose cases were reported by the Information and Diseases System of Notification (SINAN). Results: 26,449 probable cases of dengue were reported in Amazonas, with an incidence rate of 754.8 cases/100,000 inhabitants. The highest incidence of cases occurred in 2019, with 363.9 cases/100,000 inhabitants. In 2022, there was a significant reduction in the number of cases, recording 3,657 probable cases and an incidence rate of 58.0 cases/100,000 inhab., where the age group most affected by dengue was young adults aged between 20 and 39 years, of both sexes. The epidemiological bulletins analyzed showed the two serotypes circulating in the Amazon, which are DENV 1 and DENV 2. Conclusion: The study proved to be of great relevance, since dengue is an endemic disease in the region, whose incidence may vary according to seasonality and the amount of rain. It is necessary to know the variations of dengue cases in order to seek public policies to raise awareness about the elimination of mosquito outbreaks and treatment of the sick. |
