Characterization and biological activity for Chenopodium ambrosioides L.

Resumo: | Objective: To identify the main chemical constituents and pharmacological activities of Chenopodium ambrosioides L. Methodology: This is an integrative review carried out in the LILACS, SciELO and PubMed electronic databases, using the following descriptors: “Chenopodium ambrosioides”, “Erva-de-Santa-Maria”, “Plantas medicinais” e “Compostos Fitoquímicos” (with respective English translations). Full articles, available in Portuguese and English, published between January 2016 and December 2021 were included. Results: The final sample consisted of 10 articles, published more frequently in 2017. As for the regions of the Chenopodium ambrosioides L. plant analyzed, it is verified Most studies analyzed leaves (n: 07), followed by stem (n: 02), seeds (n: 01) and aerial regions (n: 01). It is possible to verify that Chenopodium ambrosioides L. was involved in studies that proved its anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal, analgesic, antiparasitic, nematicide, vermifuge and antileishmania. Conclusion: Numerous biological activities have been attributed to Chenopodium ambrosioides L. recently in the analyzed studies. It is a promising plant for the production of herbal medicine, with beneficial health properties, with proven therapeutic effects, however, broader studies are needed in an attempt to discover new ways to use the medicinal herb. |

Metodología: Se trata de una revisión integradora realizada en las bases de datos electrónicas LILACS, SciELO y PubMed, utilizando los siguientes descriptores: “Chenopodium ambrosioides”, “Erva-de-Santa-Maria”, “Plantas medicinais” e “Compostos Fitoquímicos” (con sus respectivas traducciones al inglés). Se incluyeron artículos completos, disponibles en portugués e inglés, publicados entre enero de 2016 y diciembre de 2021. Resultados: La muestra final estuvo compuesta por 10 artículos, publicados con mayor frecuencia en 2017. En cuanto a las regiones de la planta Chenopodium ambrosioides L. analizadas, se verifica La mayoría de los estudios analizaron hojas (n: 07), seguidas de tallo (n: 02), semillas (n: 01) y regiones aéreas (n: 01). Es posible verificar que Chenopodium ambrosioides L. estuvo involucrado en estudios que probaron su acción antiinflamatoria, antibacteriana, antifúngica, analgésica, antiparasitaria, nematicida, vermífugo y antileishmania. Conclusión: Numerosas actividades biológicas se han atribuido a Chenopodium ambrosioides L. recientemente en los estudios analizados. Es una planta promisoria para la producción de fitoterapia, con propiedades benéficas para la salud, con efectos terapéuticos probados, sin embargo, se necesitan estudios más amplios en un intento de descubrir nuevas formas de uso de la hierba medicinal.Objetivo: Identificar os principais constituintes químicos e atividades farmacológicas da Chenopodium ambrosioides L. Metodologia: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa realizada nas bases de dados eletrônicas LILACS, SciELO e PubMed, por meio dos seguintes descritores: “Chenopodium ambrosioides”, “Erva-de-Santa-Maria”, “Plantas medicinais” e “Compostos Fitoquímicos” (com respectivas traduções para o inglês). Foram incluídos artigos completos, disponíveis em português e inglês, publicados entre janeiro de 2016 a dezembro de 2021. Resultados: A amostra final foi composta por 10 artigos, publicados com maior frequência em 2017. Quanto às regiões da planta Chenopodium ambrosioides L. analisadas, verifica-se que grande parte dos estudos analisou as folhas (n: 07), seguido de caule (n: 02), sementes (n: 01) e regiões aéreas (n: 01). É possível verificar que a Chenopodium ambrosioides L. esteve envolvida em estudos que comprovaram sua ação anti-inflamatória, antibacteriana, antifúngica, analgésica, antiparasitária, nematicida, vermífuga e antileishmania. Conclusão: Numerosas atividades biológicas foram atribuídas a Chenopodium ambrosioides L. recentemente, nos estudos analisados.
