Zootechnical performance of Imperial Gift Tilapia reared in a Biofloc system under different densities

Resumo: | The BFT system is one of the technology options available to aquaculture producers to intensify and reduce the environmental impacts caused by the emission of effluents rich in organic matter. The principle of this technology is to recycle nutrients through a high carbon/nitrogen ratio in the water, supplementing the cultivated organisms. Therefore, the objective of the present study is to evaluate the zootechnical performance of Tilapia Imperial Gift under different densities in a BFT system. The experiment was carried out in the urban center of Redenção - Pará, with 500 Tilapia Imperial Gift fingerlings sexually coated with males. Scales and ruler were used to evaluate the fish's zootechnical performance, measuring final average weight, survival, apparent feed conversion, average size and total biomass. The use of BFT technology in the nursery stage proved to be an alternative option for rural producers, with good feed conversion rates due to the presence of microbial aggregates. The juvenile stage with a density of 66 fish/m3 with an average final weight of 200g fed with 36% CP showed good zootechnical indices, allowing to minimize the fish culture time. |

El principio de esta tecnología es reciclar nutrientes a través de una alta relación carbono/nitrógeno en el agua, complementando los organismos cultivados. Por lo tanto, el objetivo del presente estudio es evaluar el desempeño zootécnico de Tilapia Imperial Gift bajo diferentes densidades en un sistema BFT. El experimento fue realizado en el centro urbano de Redenção - Pará, con 500 alevines de Tilapia Imperial Gift cobijados sexualmente con machos. Se utilizó balanza y regla para evaluar el desempeño zootécnico de los peces, midiendo peso promedio final, supervivencia, conversión alimenticia aparente, tamaño promedio y biomasa total. El uso de la tecnología BFT en la etapa de vivero demostró ser una opción alternativa para los productores rurales, con buenos índices de conversión alimenticia debido a la presencia de agregados microbianos. El estadio juvenil con una densidad de 66 peces/m3 con un peso final promedio de 200g alimentado con 36% PB mostró buenos índices zootécnicos, lo que permitió minimizar el tiempo de cultivo de peces.O sistema de BFT trata-se de uma das opções de tecnologia acessíveis aos produtores aquícolas para se intensificar e reduzir os impactos ambientais causados pela emissão de efluentes ricos em matéria orgânica. O princípio desta tecnologia é reciclar nutrientes através de uma elevada relação carbono/nitrogênio na água, suplementando os organismos cultivados. Portanto, o objetivo do presente estudo é avaliar o desempenho zootécnico da Tilápia Imperial Gift sob diferentes adensamentos em sistema de BFT. O experimento foi realizado no núcleo urbano de Redenção – Pará, os 500 alevinos de Tilápia Imperial Gift revestidos sexualmente à machos. Para avaliação do desempenho zootécnico dos peixes foram utilizadas balança e régua, mensurando peso médio final, sobrevivência, conversão alimentar aparente, tamanho médio e biomassa total. A utilização da tecnologia de BFT na fase de berçário mostrou-se uma opção alternativa aos produtores rurais, tendo bons índices de conversão alimentar devido a presença de agregados microbianos.
