Considerations regarding the learning styles of a group of Mathematics teachers from the state public network of São Paulo

Resumo: This paper presents a study on the learning styles of mathematics teachers in the public-school system in the State of São Paulo. The objective of identifying and categorizing the profile of the styles developed by Felder and Silverman dominant by these mathematics teachers working in the São Paulo school system. Through the use of leaning styles through qualitative research that aims to describe the individual characteristics of those involved, it became a motivation for the construction of this work. The Google Forms application was used as a tool to collect responses from participating teachers, which allowed us to create the form and generate a link so that this form could reach the teachers, sent by email via whatsapp. With these data, they were collected, tabulated and analyzed, resulting in the tables and graphs that show the preferences regarding the learning styles of this group of Mathematics teachers. Through the results obtained it is possible to reflect on whether the teachers’ teaching of the indicative of being in line with the material used, as well as with the profile of the classes in which they teach. Finally, also knowing the preferences of teachers’ styles may offer their students the possibility of promoting teaching strategies that enhance their learning.

Mediante el uso de estilos de aprendizaje a través de una investigación cualitativa que tiene como objetivo describir las características individuales de los involucrados, se convirtió en la motivación para la construcción de este trabajo. Se utilizó la aplicación Google Forms como herramienta para recolectar respuestas de los docentes participantes, lo que nos permitió crear el formulario y generar un enlace para que este formulario llegara a los docentes, enviado por correo electrónico y vía whatsaap. Con estos datos en la mano, fueron recolectados, tabulados y analizados, generando como resultado tablas y gráficos que presentan las preferencias en cuanto a los estilos de aprendizaje de este grupo de docentes de Matemáticas. A través de los resultados obtenidos, es posible reflexionar si la enseñanza de indicativos por parte de los docentes está en consonancia con el material utilizado, así como con el perfil de las clases en las que imparten. Finalmente, conocer las preferencias de estilo de los docentes también puede brindar a sus estudiantes la posibilidad de promover estrategias de enseñanza que mejoren su aprendizaje.Este trabalho apresenta um estudo sobre os estilos de aprendizagem dos professores de Matemática da rede pública de ensino do Estado de São Paulo.  O objetivo é identificar e categorizar o perfil dos estilos desenvolvidos por Felder e Silverman dominantes por esses professores de Matemática atuantes na rede de ensino de São Paulo. Mediante uso de estilos de aprendizagem através de pesquisa qualitativa que visa descrever as características individuais dos envolvidos, tornou-se motivação para a construção desse trabalho. Utilizou-se como ferramenta para coleta das respostas dos professores participantes o aplicativo Google Forms, que nos possibilitou criar o formulário e gerar um link para que este formulário pudesse chegar até os professores, enviado por e-mail e via whatsaap. De posse destes dados, os mesmos foram coletados, tabulados e analisados, gerando como resultado tabelas e gráficos que apresentam as preferências quanto aos estilos de aprendizagem deste grupo de professores de Matemática.
