Resumo: Suicide is a complex phenomenon, a problem of global public health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), 800 thousand people die per year world-wide. It is essencial to emphatize that not only suicidal ideation ans suicidal intention are key characteristics of a actual suicidal crisis, but they may also be related to a higher probability of the individual die by suicide. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, short-term model of therapeutic treatment based on the perspective that thinking influences feeling, which in turn influences behavior. Thus, when identifying beliefs related to suicide, the greater the probability of a effective clinical intervention. This is a integrative systematic review of the literature in Biblioteca Virtual de Saúde (BVS) and PubMed, using the descriptors “Cognitive Behavioral Therapy”, “Suicide, Attempted”, “Psychology, Clinical” in the period from 2011 to 2021. Four scientific articles were selected that addressed suicide and included CBT as a variable in their research, consisting of three randomized clinical trials and a study of analytical decision model. As results, it was found that CBT aimed at patients with suicidal ideation and/or attempted suicide had a overall average of 12 sessions. Understanding the protective role that can be played by the family/community, it was found that it is an approach that has shown effective results in a short period.

Research, Society and Development2022-03-18info:eu-repo/semantics/articleinfo:eu-repo/semantics/publishedVersionapplication/pdfhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/2740310.33448/rsd-v11i4.27403Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 No. 4; e26311427403Research, Society and Development; Vol. 11 Núm. 4; e26311427403Research, Society and Development; v. 11 n. 4; e263114274032525-3409reponame:Research, Society and Developmentinstname:Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)instacron:UNIFEIporhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/article/view/27403/23894Copyright (c) 2022 Natália Domingos de Oliveira; Ítalo Souza Ferreirahttps://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0info:eu-repo/semantics/openAccessOliveira, Natália Domingos de Ferreira, Ítalo Souza 2022-03-27T17:17:09Zoai:ojs.pkp.sfu.ca:article/27403Revistahttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/indexPUBhttps://rsdjournal.org/index.php/rsd/oairsd.articles@gmail.com2525-34092525-3409opendoar:2024-01-17T09:45:09.262742Research, Society and Development - Universidade Federal de Itajubá (UNIFEI)false
