Resumo: | Obesity is characterized by an excess of body fat, which can cause damage to health. Its etiology is multifactorial, resulting from the interaction between genetic, socioeconomic, environmental, and psychological aspects. The objective of this study is to sensitize students between the seventh year of elementary school and the third year of high school in two schools in the state of Sergipe about the health damage that obesity and eating disorders can bring to adolescents. As a methodology, educational actions and conversation circles were carried out to explain how these diseases can affect quality of life. As a result and discussion, a total of 260 students were attended, from the morning and afternoon shifts, within the age group from 12 to 19 years old. This work made it possible to show how direct communication with the young public allows the exchange of experiences and knowledge by both parts, and can prevent serious damage to the health of this public, related to obesity and eating disorders. |

El objetivo de este estudio es sensibilizar a estudiantes entre el séptimo año de la enseñanza fundamental y el tercer año de la enseñanza media de dos escuelas del estado de Sergipe sobre los daños a la salud que la obesidad y los trastornos alimenticios pueden traer a los adolescentes. Como metodología se realizaron acciones educativas y ruedas de conversación para explicar cómo estas enfermedades pueden afectar la calidad de vida. Como resultado y discusión se atendió un total de 260 estudiantes, de los turnos matutino y vespertino, dentro del grupo de edad de 12 a 19 años. Este trabajo permitió mostrar cómo la comunicación directa con el público joven permite el intercambio de experiencias y conocimientos por ambas partes, y puede prevenir daños graves a la salud de este público, relacionados con la obesidad y los trastornos alimenticios.A obesidade caracteriza-se por um excesso de gordura corporal, que pode causar danos à saúde. Sua etiologia é multifatorial, sendo resultado da interação entre aspectos genéticos, socioeconômicos, ambientais e psicológicos. O objetivo desse estudo é sensibilizar estudantes entre o sétimo ano do ensino fundamental e terceiro ano do ensino médio em duas escolas do Estado de Sergipe acerca dos danos à saúde que a obesidade e os transtornos alimentares podem trazer para os adolescentes. Como metodologia, foram realizadas ações educativas e rodas de conversa para explicar como essas doenças podem afetar a qualidade de vida. Como resultados e discussão, foram atendidos um total de 260 estudantes, dos turnos da manhã e tarde, dentro da faixa etária dos 12 aos 19 anos de idade. Esse trabalho permitiu evidenciar como a comunicação direta com o público jovem permite a troca de experiências e conhecimentos por ambas as partes, e pode evitar sérios danos à saúde desse público, relacionados à obesidade e transtornos alimentares.
