Resumo: This study discuss the production of space and territorialities at Perequê Açú beach, in the city of Ubatuba, on the northern coast of the state of São Paulo, with the objective to study socio-spatial and economic changes suffered by the traditional caiçara fishernan group. We opted for a method of ethnographic approach, of qualitative and exploratory research, with the application of direct interview with the main current leaders involved in the changes of the locality of Pereque-Açu, as well as tourists (90 interviewees) in the months of January and July 2019 and January 2020. The results indicated tourism activity as well as second-home real estate speculation in the context of maintaining Caiçara culture, which, being subjugated, moved to a peripheral area where it struggles for its survival without state support. The maintenance of the caiçara culture is necessary for the protection of this intangible heritage as well as for the survival of the local identity.

Se optó por un método de abordaje etnográfico, de investigación cualitativa y exploratoria, con la aplicación de una entrevista dirigida a los principales líderes del pasado y presente involucrados en la transformación de la localidad de Pereque-Açu, así como a turistas (90 entrevistados) en los meses de Enero y Julio de 2019 y Enero de 2020. Los resultados indicaron actividad turística, así como especulación inmobiliaria de segundas viviendas en el contexto de mantenimiento de la cultura Caiçara, que, subyugada, se trasladó a una zona periférica donde lucha por su supervivencia sin apoyo estatal. El mantenimiento de la Cultura Caiçara es necesario para la protección de este patrimonio inmaterial, así como para la supervivencia de la identidad local.O presente estudo analisou a produção do espaço e territorialidades na praia do Perequê Açú, no município de Ubatuba, litoral norte do estado de São Paulo, tendo como objetivo discutir as transformações socioespaciais e econômicas sofridas pelo grupo tradicional caiçara-pescador. Optou-se por um método de abordagem etnográfica, de pesquisa qualitativa e exploratória, com aplicação de entrevista dirigida com as principais lideranças do passado e do presente envolvidas na transformação da localidade de Pereque-Açu, bem como turistas (90 entrevistados) nos meses de janeiro e julho de 2019 e janeiro de 2020. Os resultados indicaram da atividade turística bem como da especulação imobiliária de segunda residência no contexto de manutenção da cultura caiçara, que sendo subjugada, deslocou-se para uma zona periférica onde luta por sua sobrevivência sem o apoio do estado.
